TiVo GloWant to make your friends think you've got an awesome TiVo Series 3, without shelling out the eight hundred dollar asking price? Here's my handy three step solution.

1. Pick up a TiVo Glo Remote—the same feller that ships with the Series 3—for just $50. It features backlit keys, a shiny black finish, and is compatible with most Series 2 TiVos.
2. Hide your TiVo Series 2 behind a translucent (important, not transparent) cabinet door in your entertainment center.
3. Explain to your friends that the reason that the video doesn't look High Definition is because their eyes have not been upgraded.
4. Stick your fingers in your ears while singing "la-la-la-la-la-la I can't heeeeear you."

The best thing about this trick? You only need to do it once: after that, you won't have any friends left.
